Cost Centre assignment

Hi Gurus

Can we assign cost centre to the org unit after creating position and hiring of the employee.....after 2 years.

Actually i am in a support project where cost centre is not assigned to the org unit or positions (Maintaining CC through IT0027) and client is using this system from the last two years ... now they wants to assign cost centre to the org unit . Tell me this activity is effecting antything in payroll ?

Can we assign cost centre from the date of origin of org unit ???

I tried it through PPOM_OLD but after assigning cost centre system creates a new record of IT 0001 with respective cost centre for each employee.
