ETL Job (Perl and SQL Scripts)

Hi,

We have a requirement as follows :-

Data is extracted from legacy system & inserted/updated to Warehouse system using "ETL Job (Perl and SQL Scripts)".

This is a scheduled job everyday.

Could the experts please let me know if this interface is file based. If not then can we get any idea about the way it transfers the data based on above statement.
