How do i increase the SAP Server Speed.

We are Using SAP with SQL Server on Windows 2003 Server . It is running very slow now a days and taking 1- 5 min to open any transaction. Previously it was working fine.

how can i increase the speed of my SAP server ? Please guide me.

Hi,

Remember SAP runs in a Databse so most problems are due bad database performance, check DB first, apply SAPnotes regarding SQL server. If your system was running fine then I don´t think parameters for SAP buffers are the problem (unless you changed them).

Look for Disk available space, Windows is very sensitive to it, also watch for non SAP process taking too many resources.

Dear Ronald,

Please call transaction st02 and check SAP Buffers if you found more swaps on a buffer, the buffer size can be increased.

Go through with SAP Note 88416 - Zero Administration Memory Management.

check database specific configuration parameters if you are using SQL Server see SAP Note 327494.
