Approver not able to open AE ticket after forward and return

We have a user that forwards a 5.2 AE ticket to a co-working with return. The co-working goes into the ticket and adds some comments and then hits the approve button to send it back.

But when the orginal approver then tries to open the ticket they get an error that states,'Request Approval Screen is not displayed because Request Status has changed'
