GL transactions at year end to Retained Earnings

Where would I look to see the actual transactions that clear Revenue and Expense accounts back to Retained Earnings at year end?

When I look at the FAGLFLEX tables I see only the ending balances for all revenue/expense accounts and retained earnings for the year that is closed but when I look at the same tables for the next year the revenue/expense accounts are at zero and the retained earnings is updated to the correct value. There aren't any transactions that we can find posting back retained earnings at year end.

Does SAP clear the year end GL balances to retained earnings without creating a posting or document?

This is ECC6.0.

Thanks,

Jeff

The answer to your question is 'Yes'. I do not think there is an accounting document for posting income statement accounts' balances to retained earnings account.

Thanks for your help everyone. I did also confirm that transactions are not recorded when Rev and Exp are rolled up into Retained Earnings after year end. This is done at the time of Balance Carry Forward, tcode (FAGLGVTR). When this transaction is run it will DISPLAY by profit center and GL account the amounts going to retained earnings but no transactions are created.

Thanks,

hi Jeff

What I know about retained earnings, SAP does the calculation of the P&L statement accounts and puts the balance in the account you configured, but leaves no document posted, and it allows you to carryfoward these accounts many times as you or your client needs,
