Clientupgradetarget "Out of memory" on Citrix Workgroup Client

Former Member

Hi

We are running CRM 5.0 SP07.

I've installed the Workgroup Client on a Citrix server running Windows Server 2003

Standard Edition. I checked the Citrix option during installation.

Whenever I try and apply any SAP Notes which require a MUP to be

applied, the following error is displayed by clientupgradetarget:

'Out Of Memory'

The MUP then hangs at 'Reading from Package...' and is never applied.

When I click OK on the 'Out Of Memory' error, the error disappears and

the clientupgrade process ends.

Windows task manager shows 3GB of memory available out of the 4GB of

memory installed.

We do not have this issue when installing Workgroup Client on physical or virtual client machines.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Erich

Hi Ron

We have come to the conclusion that connecting to our server via pcAnywhere (as per the SAP Note mentioned above) would produce the same results as connecting to the console session on the server via the ILO - which we have already done and which produced the same 'out of memory' error.

We are therefore no further ahead with our implementation (i.e. cannot apply any MUPs to the installed Workgroup client) and have decided to get some Citrix consultancy on the issue.

Erich-

We are considering a Citrix implementation on Windows Server 2003 and I have not been able to find much info on suggested server configuration (i.e. disk and memory size /user). Can you share your server configuration with me and any lessons learned?

Much appreciated.

Hi Wolfhard

Thanks a lot for the help.

We have tried connecting to the server via the ILO and applying the MUPS from the console session, which produced the same error.

We will try installing pcAnywhere on the server and connecting using that instead in order to apply the MUPs, as per the note.
