    Dear friend,

It is upto your client requirement. if your client is a manufacturing unit, you can take PP-Process mfg Make-to-stock or else consult with your PP consultant and find our what kind of scenario is needed for the client. cause PP consultant will be maintaining the strategy group in MRP view of a material.

    regards,

      Dear friend,

In Make to stock process - you can follow the normal sales process and the stock is going to be available in Unrestricted use. so when ever you create an order the material will be consumed from unrestricted use stock. So you can use our standard process of OR - LF - F2

      regards,

For information, In discrete manufacturing, the manufacturing floor works off orders to build something. Examples include toys, medical equipment, computers and cars. The resulting products are easily identifiable. In process manufacturing, the products are undifferentiated, for example oil, natural gas and salt.

So first decide how the production process would going to be and accordingly, from PP side, it has to be configured.

From SD side, no need to concentrate much on configuration side but just you have to take care whether the following are maintained

    - MRP Type "PD" is maintained in MRP1 view

    - Lot size "EX" is maintained in MRP1 view

    - Strategy Group "10" or "11" is maintained in MRP3 view. Mostly, for MTS, 10 would be maintained

    - In OVZ9, stock reservation is defined
