ChaRM inconsistencies after system rename

Former Member

We have decided to withdrawn a maintenance project where ChaRM was

enable. The reason is that the SAPSID of the involved systems changed and

the project and ChaRM configuration became inconsistent.

We tried to disable the ChaRM functionality to delete the project and

start from scratch, but after disabling it when trying to delete the

project the following message is displayed and nothing happen.

"Project SAPRM_MNT is already used in Change Request Management"

No ChaRM transaction was never linked to this project, and the initial

tasklist was never used.

How can we delete this project or reset its status, so it can be

configured for the correct systems?

Dear Felipe,

Once a Project is activated for ChaRM usage (TA SOLAR_PROJECT_ADMIN > System Landscape > Change Request Management > Activate checkbox), you're not able any more to delete the Project.

What you can do in your case is to complete the existing Maintenance Cycle (with the old SID of your system), make sure your new system is part of TA SMSY and your logical components are updated properly. Add the correct logical component and system roles to your project and create a new Maintenance Cycle.

Hi Roel,

Unfortunately I can't close the maintenance cycle as it is in an inconsistent state.

The final goal is to reuse the current project but with a new maintenance cycle that includes the proper systems.

I wonder if by following the procedure described in Note 933705 we can get this done, but I am unsure if the procedure applies to SM 7.0.

Do you have any idea or any other recommendation?

Thanks

Manuel

Hello,

You can follow the procedure explained in note 933705. I did it before and it works fine. Although, you should know that it is something to do as a last resort.

If you want more information on the procedure, you can also look at note 933986

Good luck.
