Hello,

For basis Consultant SA38/SE38 is used to run the Program/Reports or check the varients.

Basis consultant can view the program varient or change the variant, can run the report.

SE38 is more useful to see all these things. They can check the program code also using SE38 in display mod.

For ABAP side they can create the program code & can change/customize the code using SE38/SA38.

They can define the varient also using SE38

Ever user to ast as an developer has to register with sap as a developer.

go to Service.sap.com---->Keys and Request-->SSCR Keys--->Register Developer .

Once you register the user as a developer you can create in se38.

go the Transaction "ABAPDOCU". It will help you

sap basis consultants are used for sa38 or se38 to run the abap reports like RDDIMPDP and RSPARAM

and SAP ABAP Consultants are used for SA38 or SE38 to createchange andexecute abap programs
