EP 7.0 Roles giving problem with IE 6.0 SP2

Hi all,

We are facing a problem while opening Portal in Internet Explorer. I have multiple roles in Portal where the first role is the Home (eu_core_role) role. On logging into Portal, the first role opens by default. Now if I click on some other role to open it, the entire browser page refreshes and the Home role opens again. So practically I am unable to open any role expect for the first role in Portal.

When I enabled Script Debugging from the Internet Options, I could find a lot of Java Script errors every time I try to open some other role. Please find some screenshots below in the order of appearance:

After this, the Portal comes to the initial state, i.e. Screenshot 1. A peculiar thing is that this problem is coming on some machines and on some machines it is working fine. I have tried to match all the Internet Options settings of the IEs of two such machines; still the problem persists.

My Portal Version is EP 7.0 SP12. My IE version is 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.080814-1233

Please suggest some clues how this problem can be resolved. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Ankur

Hi Ravi,

Thanks for the reply. Yes we are using fully qualified domain name. And I have tried playing with the proxy exceptions too.

On my machine everything works fine. The problem is coming for some other people in my team. So I have tried for all the possibilities regarding the proxy exceptions on these machines. Same problem comes everytime.

Yes Ravi,

You have a very good point. This problem does not come with Firefox on any machine. But the issue is that we are not supposed to use Firefox. We are supposed to perform all testing on Client's standard browser i.e. Internet Explorer.

Ankur,

You might want to check your settings as given in here.

yes, this is something to do with your proxy settings only, check with your network/proxy team regarding the settings.

Hhi Ankur,

1) Close all IE windows

2) Open the IE --> Tools --> Internet Option

3) Restore all default settigns

4) Delete temporary files

5) Delete cookies

6) Advance --> Set the parameters HTTP 1.1 setting (Use HTTP 1.1 and Use HTTP 1.1 though proxy connections).

7) Close IE

Good Luck

Hi Eduardo,

That was perfect. It solved my problem and also some other problem that we had been facing related to Detailed Navigation Panel in Portal.

Thanks a lot.

Regards,

Ankur
