Crystal Report V10vs Crystal Report Server 2008 vsCrystal Report Enterprise

Dear all,

Our company is using crystal report designer version 10 and planning to publish reports for more users access by use of crystal report server 2008.

We've installed the crystal report server 2008 in a testing server however I am confused "Crystal report server 2008" vs. "crystal report enterprise". When I look into the administrator guide, it keeps telling me how and what crystal report enterprise can do.

Are they the same product but different terms and is there any problem of crystal report designer v10 working with crystal report server 2008?

Anyone can help would be much appreciated.

thanks in advance, rachel.

Morning Rachel,

As far as using Crystal Reports 10 with Crystal Reports 2008 is concern I do not see any problems using it however there are new features which are available in Crystal Reports 2008 designer, such as "Hasvalue" function which allows you to setup optional parameters and use of dynamic parameters at the runtime level.

Saying that there should not be any problems for you to use Crystal Reports 2008 server with Crystal designer 10.

As far as Enterprise and Server is concern, I myself have no idea however I assume both are the same but has different terminology.

A moderator or an expert in Business Objects Enterprise section can tell you about this better then myself.

Try asking the question in Business Objects Enterprise section of this forum.

Hope this helps
