Need help on SAP S4 HANA 1610 Certification

Hi I am Anni, interested in getting certified for SAP S4 HANA 1610. I am from the united states, is there any pre-requites that I need to do as I am new to SAP in experience. Please can you let me know if I need to be aware of any procedures. Thank you!!
