Hello,
in order to book an asset deal we activated asset dd. 01.09.2008. This asset was first an asset under construction. After activation, it was booked on account 116000. We then sold the asset, booking against account (asset sale clearing). This booking is generated automatically when an asset is sold. The deactivation worked since the booking can be seen on (asset sale clearing).
Nevertheless, the system actually not deactivate the asset and therefore still keeps on booking depreciations. There should not have been a depreciation at all on September.
We retired the asset using transaction ABAON. Document Date-01.09.2008 Posting date-01.09.2008 transaction type 260. When we tried to retired the asset initially it gave an warning message (Please refer the below message).
Asset DE14 2002489-0 will not be deactivated, it has a net book value
Message no. AAPO123
Diagnosis
Asset DE14 2002489-0 0 cannot be deactivated, despite its complete retirement or complete intracompany/intercompany transfer, because the net book value is not zero in at least one depreciation area.
Procedure
Check the posting and value date of the current transaction. The system considers transactions only if their posting and value date are before or the same as the current posting date and value date.
If all transactions have been recognized based on the above criteria, then leave the current transaction without posting the document. 'Recalculate values' for the asset. Then post the transaction again.
Please can any one let me know where we are going wrong.
BR,
Zulfikar
