Hi

Can some please explain the following derivation rule as what it means below for derivation of division from product

Source fields table lookup method

origin field name Name origin field name Name

MARA MATNR Material number = CO-PA ARTNR Product number

Assignment of table fields to target fields

origin field name Name origin field name Name

MARA SPART Division = CO-PA SPART Division

I understand the table MARA and fields but is there any table exists as CO-PA (origin) if so can view the table

Thanks

Select Derivation rule, select Source Table COPA, select the field Product ARTNR, Target Table COPA, Select field SPART.

Maintain Rules, it should work

Hi,

Both product (ARTNR) and division (SPART) are fixed characteristics in COPA. Fixed chars means that they are derived by SAP. The product is normally taken from the sender document. In case of division SAP provides a derivation rule where a table lookup is done on MARA based on the product derived earlier and the division is obtained.
