Is netweaver is must componet for ECC 6.0 ?

Hi,

I am new to SAP Basis. Could you please answer the following questions

to upgrade R/3 system 'from SAP R/3 enterprise to ECC6.0 " , Is net weaver platform is must need to install?

What is ECC ?in view of basis consultant !!!

What is WAS in R/3 enterprise (4.7),WAS in ECC ?

What is the difference between WAS functionality(4.7) and R/3 Basis functionality ( earlier)?

Hi,

ECC6 runs on netweaver platfrom but you need not install it separately for the upgrade from SAP R/3 enterprise to ECC6.0.

Read the upgrade guide and follow the steps.the platfrom will be installed automatically.
