Does the BO Sharepoint 2007 Integration kit work with WSS3.0?

Hello,

I have seen several posts about this topic but I still have not come to a correct conclusion. I have Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0 and BO Crystal Reports Server XI R2 SP3. The getting started documentation for SP3 specifically says the portal integration kit can be used with "MS Windows Sharepoint Services or Sharepoint Server 2007". However when I try to install the the integration kit I receive an error "Microsoft Sharepoint Server 2007 is required to install the Microsoft Sharepoint Integration Kit".

Is this true? Do I have something setup wrong or is the documentation incorrect and only Sharepoint server 2007 is supported?

It shows WSS as compatible in this document http://www.businessobjects.com/pdf/solutions/microsoft/bo_microsoft_interoperability_final.pdf

Any clarification would be helpful as I have wasted 1+ days trying to figure this out. I just need to know if Sharepoint services and the Sharepoint integration kit will work together with Crystal Server XI R2 SP3.

Please try with following command line options, execute this command from the windows command line.

setup.exe SP2007=1

Thanks very much for this tip. It does indeed solve the problem.

Following the same steps as in successful installation while in MOSS 2007 SP1; however under the MOSS 2007 SP2 the following error message now appears:

"Failed to add BusinessObjects XI 3.1 SharePoint 2007 PIK to SharePoint. Please verify that you have all the necessary access rights and provide the correct server names, and reinstall this software."

Any pointers to what might be causing this issue and how to solve it would be much appreciated.

Hi Amit,

could you please provide links to the supported platforms document and installation guide.

we receive the same error message on SharePoint 2007 system with Service Pack 2?

the BO is version XI 3.1. Is this a problem with the sharepoint environment or is some BO stuff missing from it?

Hi Ryan,

For the BusinessObjects Enterprise WSS3.0 is supported , you can check in the platfrom support doucment too.

For CR Server Sp3 I am not sure though, till CR SP2 I guess WSS2.0 should have been supported.

Did you try the install after WSS3.0 after ignoring the error..?

Thanks for the response. I dont see anything in the platforms.txt about Sharepoint Server or Sharepoint services. What is BusinessObjects Enterprise WSS3.0 and how is that different than Microsoft Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0?

Yes, I also tried installing the Sharepoint services kit after the error. I also rebooted and tried uninstalling/reinstalling SP3, then trying again. I still recieve the same error message saying that "Sharepoint Server 2007 is required to install the sharepoint integration kit", however, WSS 3.0 is installed on this same machine.

Any ideas? or is Windows Sharepoint Services simply not supported?

the platfrom support documents are available at http://service.sap.com/bosap-support -> Supported Platforms.

for CRS, I don't see anything for SP3 and hence cannot comment

I am sure for Enterprise BOE XIR2 SP3, support for WSS 3.0 was provided and PIK should be able to install on that.

I believe that I have the same problem with B.O XI R2 SP3.

On the two servers (WSS 3.0 and B.O), I can't install Sharepoint 2007 Portail Integration kit.

Can you give me a solution ?

hi,

as per the Platform support document for XIR2 SP3 , it supports only WSS2.0.

WSS3.0 was supported from XIR2 SP2 onwards
