Is There any web tool to expose the documentation of SAP PI interfaces? Some kind of catalog. The goal is to allow other company teams to consult the available webservices, and the functional and field description of the interfaces.

Hi Leonardo,

There is no standard tool to generate interface documentation, but there are tools to generate mapping documentation. Please refer the below link

Hi Harish, thanks!

Currently we have more than 1000 interfaces. I need to make the documentation available in some web interface that allows searches. We have several development teams, who need to know what webservices are available, and what information and features they have. Nowadays, whenever a need arises we (SAP PI Team) have to search for it, and it would be ideal for each team to search the webservices and request reuse.

We(SAP PI Team) need to answer questions like these: Is there webservice to create the Invoice, Employee Data, Suppliers, etc? what are the input and output parameters? What is the meaning of each field? What is the system (SAP or non-SAP) that provides this service? What are the business rules? Which application currently uses this service?

Hi Leonardo,

AFAIK some organization created their own tool (custom tool) to produce documentation. There is API/service available in SAP PI/PO to get the details.

Harish

Hi Leonardo,

There is a commercial tool available which generates a comprehensive interface documentation, including the mapping details. The tool offers many additional features like extracting all Directory objects, exporting all mapping objects to Excel, XML or a Database.

The tool is called UDO and can be found at https://www.arianim.com
