Allow decimal places for the LB and GAL UOM

Hi everyone,

In our system, the units of measure GAL (US Gallon) and LB (Pound) don't allow decimal places. Decimal places = 0 in CUNI transaction.

We would like to change this value to 3 to handle the inventory with more precision.

The 3 American companies are already using the system configured with no decimal places and we (the IT dpt.) are scared to make this change happen.

Are your system set up with 3 decimal places already? We don't think it is a good idea to change these decimal places on a standard UoM. What is your opinion.

Thank you,

Best Regards,

Julien

This parameter in CUNI is only for the visualization. You can already now post fractions and SAP standard would not stop you from doing it. You are just not seeing it in MMBE unless you make the decimals visible via CUNI.

You might want to scan your MARD table for decimals in the quantity fields of materials that use GAL or LB as base units. It would almost be a surprise if you don't find decimals other than zeroes.
