How to translate FLP Categories in Java Portal?

Hello all,

I am trying to translate the Launchpad Categories I have created but this does not work correctly as it seems. I followed the steps described in Note 2623228. But I end up having an empty Translation Worklist.

Here some screens:

Am i doing something wrong or is this a bug and i have to create an OSS for this?

I found a solution for this. The problem was that the Catgeories iView had the "com.sap.portal" prefix. Every object with that prefix can't be released for translation or transported. Since I have to use the original object and I am not allowed to create a copy of any kind, I deleted the prefix and it worked. I hope that upcoming patches will not overwrite this change.

Hi Tobias,

I don't have a solution for your problem, but I don't see anything wrong with what you're doing. I've did the same in a 7.31SP20 Portal and it worked fine.

The only thing that caught my atention from your screenshots was between your screenshot 1 (worklistobject) and 2 (preview): The Fiori Framework Categories iview it's not displayed on 2nd screenshot, so it seems it is not picked for translation. Maybe you can try just to have only that one on your list before you generate the translation data.

Hello Garcia. Yes, the point you mentioned was also noticed by me. It is almost like the system does not recognize that there are translatable texts in the FLP Categories object :(. I was hoping not to be forced to use SAP support but i am running out of ideas.
