How to delete material batches from MCHA

Former Member

Dear all,

We are trying to permanently delete empty batches from system. We were able to run MM_SPSTOCK in SARA transaction and delete the stock segment records of related batches from MCHB table. However material batch header records still exist in MCHA table. What else we have to do more to delete material batches permanently from the system ? Any help greatly appreciated !

MM_SPSTOCK will delete all batch data, from SARA, you can check database table for object MM_SPSTOCK. Make sure you flag deletion the batch at plant level , if you just flag at batch stock level, then it just delete from MCHB. from MSC2N,enter material , plant and batch, dont fill the sloc.

I have checked the deletion both flags of batch and plant level at MSC2N and tried MM_SPSTOCK in SARA again . But I still have the records in MCHA without records in MCHB. Is there any other suggestions ? Thanks in advance.

when you running the archiving process for write mode, check to the job log, is there any message exist, then check also your deletion program variant for production mode (u can use MMREO220N)

Thanks lot for your comments. What we realized that in variant details for archiving batch numbers have to defined as range or individual values. We were only defining item numbers and nothing fo batch numbers. Once we defined a range for batch numbers also system archived related batch records and deleted them in deletion step.

Best regards.

I did the following

1) batch stock level - Mark deletion at batch stock level and done the archiving now MCHB is cleared.

2) batch at plant level - I did not mark, now I have batches in MCHA & MCH1

Please advise how to fix this.

Kind regards,GMurtaza
