Hi all,
While creating a release strategy system is throwing the below error.
Error in classification (class PO_REL_CLASS class type 032)
Thanks
Fayaz
Hi Fayaz,
From your description I can guess that you get error message ME 179.
The reason for this error is incompletness in release strategy settings
caused by incorrect transports.
You can check and correct as below:
1)
- go into transaction CL20N,
- enter the class type 032 and press <enter>
- enter all the release groups and strategies you have defined in the
customizing and check if they are allocated to the right class. If
not, delete the allocation and assign the strategy to the right class
2)
- go into transaction CL24N
- enter the class and class type 032 and press <enter>
- here you should find all the strategies which you have defined in
the customizing. Please note that the number of the release strategies
in CL24N has to match exactly the number of the defined strategies
from the customizing. If you have more strategies in CL24N delete
the strategies which are not defined in the customizing. If entries
from the customizing are missing, please add them in CL24N.
All the entries in CL24N should have the status '1'.
Please also take into account information from below notes:
86900 Transport of Release strategies (OMGQ,OMGS)
45951 Transporting class data: system / client
when you prepare release strategy transports.
I also attached note 365604 for your reference.
I hope this information is helpful.
Best Regards,
Gabriela

Hi Gabriel,
I am having the same error ME179 and I have tried to check on CL20N and CL24N as per your suggestion. Regret to say I still having the same error. After I have maintained CL20N and <save>, then I goto SPRO to view the release strategy, system allows me to list the <Classification> tab. However, when I click <F3> to exist and return to the same release strategy and click on <Classificaton>again (for the second time), system then issued error ME179. Have you encountered this error before?
Appreciate your input on this. Thank you very much.
regards,
Lian
