Unable to deploy Ess and Mss , IS it necessary that we need to have the the r3 connectivity

for deployment through JSPM/SDM I dont think we need r/3 to be connected

Hi,
you need not to worry about the R/3 connectivity for the Deployment of ESS and MSS.
Just go ahead and deploy with the SDM.

If you can't r3 connectivity, the ESS don't works.

What is the use of deploying ess/mss businesspackage if you dont have r/3 or ecc backend?.
You can able to deploy but to workwith /configure ess/mss makesure portal is integrated with r/3
