Hi All,

I am working on smartform for dimension report. It works fine but problem is Symbol like

fi = Ø

Degree celcius ° are not comming on print.

in print preview symbols are display but when taking print this symbol replace by #.

e.g Ø192 display as #192.

How to solve this problem?

Is your SAP system Unicode and are you using a Unicode printer device type?

This is one of those areas where BASIS and Form development overlap. You'll need to work with the printer admin depending on the answers to above questions.

Dear Michael,

My System is Non Unicode and as far as printer is concern, it is standard HP Laserjet printer. I get a fi sysmbol on the print while taking the print out of MS Excel Or MS Word. Even I get the same symbol during print preview of SAP report in which this symbol is used.

Does there any setting in SAP or SPAD for non unicode system to print such special symbols?

I don't believe you can use the fi symbol in a non-Unicode system. It's not part of the SAP character sets. You can look at notes on printing the trademark symbol, SAP gives instructions for adding it to a custom character set, but I don't see any instructions for the fi symbol.

Hi,

The issue is with the physical printer which is not supporting the special character set.

Please inform the printer incharge about the issue to make sure these are supported.
