Hi Anil

Thanks for the response, but SAPWIN works with LPD for frontend printing only - that is my understanding.

Now if I add the printer to my local machine - and when printing select that printer or select LOCL (which has the devide type SAPWIN or SWIN) - it then fires up the LPD and prints as a local print job without using the SAP printer attached to the the SAP server - this is fine. But the problem is I want to be able to send print jobs from a program or a batch job.

I tried it nevertheless and it failed.

Still looking ...........

Check the link below for the printer types that SAP R/3 supports.

Hi Suman

I am having an issue with RICOH MP 5000C printer. It works fine while printing from the OS or even when printing using SAPLPD.

When I add is as a printer using SPAD it does not print. I have tried device type HPLJ4 and someother PCL 5 drivers but have not been able to print successfully. The funnny thing is - it goes to the printer and errors out. On the SAP spool - it shows that it has processed successfully and reports a completed status.

Any clues - I was hoping there would be a RICOH device type that I can add to SAP. I do not know anything about editing the existing device types enough to make one specific to Ricoh .
