How to Update NW4.6C to ECC6

Hi,

I am new in SAP BASIS administrator, I worked NW4.6C WEBAS620, our company wants to update ECC6 and I am very new for ECC6, it team work, i am very confouse, how to start...

I know little bit about 5 phase to invalved to complet update or new implimentation

Project preparation

Business blueprint

Realization,

Final preparation

Go live support

What is basis job in thease phase, and what is daily responsibility, will i do transport, or invalved with ABAP ? or funtinal peoples ?

please guide me the steps normaly basis guys doing while implementation or ECC6 update

Hi,

SAP 4.6C is not based on netweaver, As per my understanding you will be going for an upgrade from 4.6C to NW2004s(ECC6.0) .

You can refer the upgrade guides in the market place.

As a basis you will be carrying out this upgrade.

Thanks a lot for reply back this information, can you please tell me what is the best guide to upgrade on SAP marketteplace...

we are currently using NW 2004, 4.6c webAS 620... you saying we can't update direct from NW04 to ECC6 ?

Hi,

I am not saying that we cannot upgrade from nw2004 to nw2004s thats what we do,

In fact there would be only one guide which is for the upgrade from specific version,

like from4.6c to ecc6.0 or from ecc5 to ecc6 that way.

Upgrade involves in great time and effort and also downtime is involved so plan accordingly.

As Vamshi said, there is a lot of activities and effort involved in an upgrade. Since you are totally new to upgrade, you can read the SAP upgrade docs and it will give you an idea what its all about..

In the initial stage, you can go through :

Technical Infrastructure Guide - SAP NetWeaver 7.0

Upgrade Master Guide - SAP NetWeaver 7.0

It will give you some light what its all about.

Later, you can go through the Upgrade documentation for the relevant database and OS over there.
