If all is OK .Then I go to DEV and last in PRD.

But at the time of Support Pack . We should lock all user except My User ID.

Please explain so that I can apply all patches in my landscape

I agree with Markus.

and , if you also have a sandbox system, I would apply SP on it first for testing purposes.

Hi Raj,

No need to lock the users, you can do by choosing down time minimize

Through solution manager you can do the approve for downloading the support packs.

first apply support packs in DEV, then if it is completed successfully go for PRD

Hi,

the role of the solution manager is for the approval of the patches.Unless you approve the patches, you are not able to download paches.

As you thought of applying the patches in QAS is good idea.Go ahead with that.

You need to lock the users while applying patches except your id.

Thanks & Regards,

use Solution Manager to confirm the download of support packs. you are forced through this step since April 2007.

I hate this approach but found a workaround.

1. I add the wanted supprot packs in the download basket,

2. I log into my Solution Manager system

3. tcode SE37

4. function module /TMWFLOW/MO_UI_BASKET_AUTHORIZ

5. do a single test

6. go back to download manager and download.

Start with DEV because developers may need to adjust modifications. Then use the created transport if you transport to QA and use it again when transporting to PROD.
