Newbie to the world of SAP

Hello to all. I am looking to learn everything there is to know about SAP development so my CV looks better and I can get some marketable skills.

I am looking to get to grips with SAP development as I would like to go into consultancy or development one day but I cannot afford the training offered on the commercial market place

Clearly this is a barrier as I need access to solutions to get used to the look and feel of them and obviously I would like experience in developing SAP. I wanted to clarify some things as well about SAP terminalogy generally

My question(s) are

What avenues are there for training with little or no finance?

If I want to be a SAP consultant and developer what subjects should I focus on?

What is SAP Netweaver? - the engine behind Business One, ByDesign etc? and what do I need to learn about it?

Is it wise to specialise in one area - financials, CRM? what are the benefits/drawbacks?
