Hi Experts,

I have a requirement where, when user selects a 'Fiscal Period' from listbox(single select) then 'Budget' values(in crosstab) should come for all the periods while values for rest of the key figures should come for the selected period(from listbox)

Is this possible ??

My connection is Hana->Universe->Discovery->Designer

Thanks in advance.

Hi Manoj,

It sounds like your requirement is to display Current Period and Current Period Year To Date. You cannot achieve this by applying individual filters on columns. This type of requirement is achieved through appropriate backend modelling of the data source such that it provides cumulative measures as well as current period measures, with a variable prompt for allowing user-defined period selection.

Can I ask why you have taken the connection path of: HANA->Universe->Discovery->Designer instead of HANA->Designer ?

Regards,

Mustafa.

Hi Mustafa,

Yes, the requirement is such that for some measures it should be Current Period and for rest it should be Current Period Year To Date.

I have used this connection path because we had to create some extra measures(calculations) and do some data preparation at front end. And also we had to leverage some of the features of Discovery(Interoperability)

Is there any difference/change in Designer behavior(features) if connected directly to Hana ?

We can create two crosstabs, one with Current Period data and other with Current Period Year To Date data, and if we can merge/union them then that might work. But don't know how to do this?
