Hi Experts,

I hav a query. Data from a third party system get posted in an FTP server. XI picks them up using FTP adapters and post them to R/3 using Idoc servers.

Is it possible , that if the R/3 is Shut down then the data get successfully posted out of XI, but doesnt reach R/3 and simply GET LOST.

Processing mode is : asynchronous

QualityOfService: ExactlyOnce</SAP.

Pls do let me know if you need ant further info to comment on this!

Regads,

Arnab .

Hi Arnab,

No, XI supports guaranteed delivery, but if in case target system is down, XI will try internal attempts standard 3 times after 10 min gap, if still there is no luck it will fail in XI itself. then you will have the info depending upon your scenario.

Thanks!

Pratik / Sudhir,

I mean is it possible that a specific setting in XI can prevent display of failed idocs in IDX5 and SMQ2. I mean is it at all possible?

Again, Can i get to see it even in SXMB_MONI..

Pls HELP.

There doesn't seem to be any such ppossibility.

Only if the error exists in pipeline steps. Otherwise you will see a successful status in sxmb_moni.

Nooooooo, Thats not possible, we cant prevent the messages to display in SMQ1/SMQ2 or moni. But What I meant by "depending Upon your scenario" is like if you are using BPM, then you will have all this info in tcode SWPR/SWPC and from there you can restart the messages when the target system is up.

Thanks!

Pratik / Sudhir and all

Many Thanks to all of you.

Let me summarize .If a situaltion like this arises, I can get to see in SMQ2 as well as IDX5. And it can nevr me manipulated by any settings.

and @ Pratik,

Ok . It will appear as success messege in sxmb_moni if no pipe line error has arised. Well here I wish to ask you, do u you mean to say, if there is no pipe line error and R/3 is down still then also I will get to see SUCCESSFUL data in MONI? Is that what u meant?

Or is it taht a pipeline error will take place if R/3 is down?

Well This part is hazy. If it has got stuck in SMQ2 and erranous in IDX5,then , Hw com it will show Success in moni.

I sound nuts !

Pls cooment

Yes. sxmb_moni only takes responsibility of Integration Engine errors and not regarding delivery to receiver which is the role of Idoc adapter.

Or is it taht a pipeline error will take place if R/3 is down?

No.

Hi

No information lost.

XI will try to send IDOC 3 times after every 5 min if receiver system is down. You can find IDOC detail in MONI.

Not possible. Either you may get the details in idx5 tcode at XI or in smq2.
