CRYSTAL ODBC PASSWORD

Former Member

I recently upgraded to Crystal 2016. Reports connecting to one SQL database will not save the password connection. Each time reports are launched for the same database the password is requested. Reports for two of our SQL database connections retain the password. Is there a setting or solution for this? Thank you!

Hi Jayne,

CR Designer has never and never will save the password in the Report file, huge security breach doing that....

What you may have done is use NT Trusted Authentication in the database connection Wizard.

Open the Report in CR 2016 and update the Connection to use Trusted Authentication.

Make sure the DB Client is up to date also.
