Dialog step not getting created in ERMS but acknowledgement is received.

Hi,

I configured the ERMS with all the basic steps then I sent an email to the specific e-mail ID. Fortunately I got the auto acknowledgement based on the rule modeller but surprisingly in transaction SWI1 I am not getting the Dialog step and the Background step created.

Another important observation is that the Task TS00207914 (ERMS decision) is throwing an error "Variable &REQREQ.REQUISITIONERUSER.ITSDESTINATIONSY& exists in description text Task description, but not in the container" when doing a check on it.

Kindly provide your valuable inputs if you have faced similar problem earlier so that we can be highly benefitted.

Hope you are doing good !

I hope you should have maintained a Rule for sending an Auto Acknowledgement via ERMS.

For the Rules to get evaluated and the respective actions get executed, there should be a workitem(Background task) created in SWI1(this should have been triggered by SAPConnet at the initial stage) and this workitem is nothing but the representation of the ERMS Task 'ERMS Decision'.

But your description seems to be more contradictory that you got the auto acknowledgement even without the workitems got created ! This can never happen for sure.

There could be two options, either the workitems got created, but you might have not noticed or the auto acknowledgement that you received might not be due to the ERMS.

One thing for sure is that, without workitems, there cannot be any execution of ERMS Actions !

So could you please point out preciously the issue that you are presently facing, so that we can try to find the root cause of the same ?
