Dear,

Solution manager is a SAP component.It's a free software provided by SAP.After 640 release onwards if you want to install anysoftware solman key is mandatery field.

The SAP Solution Manager supports you throughout the entire life-cycle of your solutions, from the Business Blueprint to the configuration to production processing. It provides central access to tools, methods and preconfigured contents which you can use during evaluation, implementation and operational processing of your systems.

Use:-

1. it is used for generating keys and downloading support packages

2. it is used to document user requirments and preparing senarios what needs to to be adopted using solution manager, where the blue print is the part of solution manager

3. it is used for reporting, solution desk,to manage the change requests and use to monitor entire landcape Central message processing in the SAP Solution Manager:

Display customer data, problem description, priority, attached documents, Service Level Agreements (SLA)

Assign processor

Send messages to the creator and other processors

Forward message to other processors or support units

Create documents and URLs

Attach documents

Status assignment and monitoring

Create a worklist with selection conditions

1. It can be used to store all the project related documents starting from Project Preparation pahse to

Go-Live & support phase.

2. All the Test scripts, End User documents, training materials, Authorization profile, Functional Spec's,

Technical Spec's can be stored here.

3. You can go and customize any SPRO T Code from solution manager.

4. You can create a configuration document from solution manager.

5. Change Management can also be used for accepting new business proposals.

6. Issues that are faced in Production server can be posted and can be handled in solution manager.

These are the few advantages of solution Manager.

Dear

Solution manager is also one of the client. We can use the solution manager for doing configuration, storing the document of blue print,config. document,testing (unit and intergration) documents.

Even we can create test case for unit testing and those test cases we can assign it to user, So the core user can login solution manger and do the testing, if he click test case, system it will take him to quality client for testing, after testing he can record the results.

If any error user faced, he will record the errors, those errors will be recorded in solution manager and can solved.

Solution Manager is an add on to R/3 or ECC 6.0 which helps in Implementation as well as Support acvities in SAP.
