Cannot connect SMD agent to SOLMAN

Hi I have started SMDagent and it doesn't connect to SOLMAN. here is the log info:

Thanks for the replies but the problem was the P4 port that it needed to connect to

I get this error when starting and stopping the smdagent

FAIL: NIECONN_REFUSED (Connection refused), NiRawConnect failed in plugin_fopen()

Could anyone tell what this means?

I have the same error message for all my SMD agent instances and they are well running.

About the initial problem :

if all informations are correct when you installed it, it seems to be a problem of firewall.

If i were you, i will :

- connect on my agent server

- tape the following command : "telnet <solman_hostname> 81<NR+1>

if you read a message that's says it's impossible, this means the port 81<NR+1> is not opened on firewall.

if you read : "connected to <solman_hostname>", you 'll have to reconfigure the properties of your agent by the script smdsetup.sh in /usr/sap/SMD/J<NR>/script
