MDG-S Custom Fields - Values Disappearing/Fields Greyed Out

Hi,

There are a few of these posts on here but none of them have a resolution which works.

I'm implementing MDG-Supplier and extending the data model by 3 different custom entities which will be stored in custom tables (i.e. reuse). I've tried to follow the guides found in https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/SAPMDM/Documentation%3A+Customer%2C+Supplier%2C+and+Business+P...

However even after carefully trying to replicate the instructions, the fields on the custom UIBB's are greyed out. I implemented a feeder class enhancement to manually alter the behavior to editable but as expected this allows entry but does not retain the entered values on any event (e.g. enter, round trip etc.)

I've read the blog post on common reasons for this and none of them seem to help. I'm unsure if I implemented SMT mappings correctly - could this be a reason? (I think not as this is moving data from the staging to the database tables and vice versa).
