Process Order

We are currently using collective process orders in SAP and are experiencing an issue because we are trying to create a BOM with both a variable and fixed qty for the same material number the material number which is a HALB. Once the collective process order is created it is creating two process orders, one for each line of the HALB material within the BOM even though they are the same material number.

Example: BOM for Material XYZ is made up of

  • Item 10: Material A – 282 FT (variable) - HALB

  • Item 20: Material A – 20 FT (fixed quantity) – HALB – This is setup scrap that occurs regardless of the batch size of the production.

  • Item 30: Material B – 250 FT (variable) - ROH

When we create the collective process order to produce Material XYZ, we get two process orders created for Material A (one for Qty 282 FT and another for Qty 20 FT). The optimal scenario would be that only once process order is created for material A for Qty: 302 FT.
