Compatability v2011 on Win 10

I have just upgraded to Windows 10 and installed a trial of v2011 with SP 12 on my new machine. I opened report template files from my previous installation on Win 7, v 11.00.895. They are not showing properly, in either Design or Preview, so I am not able to edit them. In Design, the form shows up but the edit area is smaller than the size of my page.

Are there default page size settings that I should be looking to make to accommodate this?

I just checked the Product Availability Matrix - Crystal 2011 is not certified on Windows 10. The latest version of Crystal is 2016. Is there any reason why you have to use 2011? If there is, you might try finding crw32.exe on your file system - right click on it and select "Troubleshoot Compatibility". This will allow you to run it as if it were being run on an earlier OS.

CR 2011 does not come with any SDK's, find out what SDK the site is using and version.

Hi Dell, Thank you for the information. This is interesting as I have been advised previously in a support chat here that Version 2011 is compatible with Win 10 provided it has Service Pack 12. The reason we are using v2011 is that we have an online webapp that does not support Reports generated later than 2011 as it has the runtime module built in for viewing the reports. I will look into the issue you cited about crw32.exe but that will require an administrator intervention.

HI Dell & Don,

It turns out that v2011 SP12 does install on Win 10 without any issues except the fact that when opening Templates created in an earlier version of 2011, it does not recognize the page size of the template. So for instance, the first template we opened showed the contents, but the editable region was only the size of a Japanese Postcard! It was a simple fix really, I had to select the Printer and the Page Size and choose Letter. Then it displayed properly. Hopefully we will be able to upgrade to v2013 once our vendor Clarivate updates their web application with a newer version of the CR run time module to display the report output. They haven't tested with 2016 yet, so I don't believe we can to with that until they do.
