Manage batches

Dear all,

I'm working now on a client in which the MM materials are managed in batches.

From the vendor side we received one batch, but it represents more than one batch on our solution. We want to be able to create one batch from another one (different batches material master data). Is this possible? And in which reports we can see that one is created from another one and we check the link between both?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

In addition to the above comments from Jurgen, I would suggest you to check the batch to batch transfer with 309 movement (in MB11 or MIGO - Transfer Posting - Other) with sending and receiving batch. This can be done as an additional step after GRN (whenever required) and In such cases, you can track the sending and receiving batch at any time, even using MB51.

In MIGO click the icon which looks like a snowflake and you can distribute the quantity to several batches while receiving. There is no need to copy the batch from another batch. Also there would not be any report that could tell you from which batch it was copied, this is not a reference that is captured.
