Archiving production orders

Hello experts,

We are archiving old production orders by using archiving object PP_ORDER. It archives data from many different tables, such as from CO tables COSB, COSP and COSS. Now we would need to know (for BI load purposes), which object types* are deleted/archived from these tables. Definetely object type OR is deleted/archived, but what about object types NV (network activities) and PR (WBS element)** for example?

So, the problem in a nutshell is to confirm if entries, which have the object type NV (Network activities) or PR (WBS Element) might be archived from COSB, COSP or COSS by the archiving objects PP_ORDER?

*As object type the first 2 digits of the object number (objnr) in the tables COSB, COSP and COSS are taken.

**Projects in general are not archived (i.e. the archiving object PS_PROJECT is not used). But Iu2019m not sure if the costs posted on network activities or wbs elements can be somehow linked to PP_ORDER, and thus, be archived when these archiving objects are archived.

Best Regards, JV

    Dear,

System will not allow to archive the order untile it is settle thats means cost of the order must be zero. So it will not create any problem, just go ahed with PP_order.

Pl.find the attached link which can help you in meeting your requirement.

    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/b1/c04f06439a11d189410000e829fbbd/frameset.htm

Once archived the Production Orders are only for Information Purpose.

You can not do any thing on these orders..

For detailed information on Production order Deletion and Archiving

    1. First Execute the program : PPARCHP1 with Deletion Flag Activated and the selection should be all your Prod. Orders

or you cn have a selection criteria to do that.

After this some of the orders will not get the DLFL Flag, there can be numbr of reasons for that.

If you encounter any problem with this DLFL flag, we will discuss it separately.

    2. Execute the same program PPARCHP1 with Dletion Indicator activated.

Now you got the DLFL and DLT both for your Production Orders.

As said earlier Residence Time 1 & Residence Time 2 will play a major role on this.

If both are maintained as 1 & 1 then the Prod. Orders should reside in the system with DLFL for 1month.

after that only you can put the DLT. and also after putting DLT you need to wait for 1month for Deletion or achiving.

    3. Now goto PPARCHA1 (Archiving) and execute the Program with your same selection criteria.

    4. Now use the T. Code CO78 or T. code SARA (with PP_Order as object Name) for deletion of Orders.

Execute the programs in the Foreground, so that you will come to know waht was the problem if ny.

You can excute th background program run for Deletion.

    Hope this helps..

Thanks for the answer. However, my questions is more related to the actual object type (objnr) entries in tables COSB, COSP and COSS. For BI/DW purposes we need to know exactly which table entries are deleted/archived in able to build correct delta loads from SAP to BI/DW.

Naturally object types starting with OR are deleted/archived when the actual order is deleted. But what about object types NV (network activities) and PR (WBS element)? Iu2019m not sure if the costs posted on network activities or wbs elements can be somehow linked to PP_ORDER, and thus, be archived when these archiving objects are archived.

    JV,

I will suggest you to do the testing with the BI reports in QA. First archive the production orders and see the entries in various tables related to PO. Ask the BI to first do the load before archiving and after archiving to calculate the delta on various reports.

    With Regards
