Disable Refresh Icon/Manual Refresh in Webi 4.2

Hi All,

Environment Details:

BOBJ 4.2 SP3

Webi 4.2 SP3

BW 7.5

CRM

We have a requirement to access Webi reports from SAP CRM portal using Open document URL's. As part of this implementation we would also want to restrict the users from Manually refreshing the Webi reports. By default when the user access the Webi report from CRM portal, using Open doc URL the report opens up with in Webi layout where we have the Webi tool bars available. "Refresh" icon is also available using which the user can refresh the report manually, which we would need to restrict.

We have tried the below mentioned which did not help to achieve our requirement.

1. Disable "Refresh" access right for the specific user.

This has helped in disabling the "Refresh" icon, but the report did not refresh even the first time when the user accessed through Open doc URL and got the error "Your security profile does not include permission to refresh the document".

2. Assign only view access right for the specific user.

Using this option user can view a report saved with data and can view the last scheduled instance for a report. He cannot refresh or save a copy of the report to modify. However, as there is no row level authorization takes place without refresh, the user was able to see all the data.

Is there any other approach we can follow to have the Webi report refresh first time and then on restrict the user from Manually refreshing the Webi report.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Anil

hi,

you can hide the refresh button by using the "customization" in cmc for a specific group

see (18.5.1.1 Customizing Web Intelligence interface elements by user group and folders) in the Administration Guide

I hope that helps you

Thank you so much, Ayman Salem

Is there any additional parameter that we can embed with in Webi Open doc URL to disable the "Refresh" button as we are accessing the Webi reports from CRM portal using Open doc URL's.

Anil
