Hello Jason,

I understood as you want to approve the downloads what ever you do from Service Market Place in SolMan from your explanation. Is that correct? If so, you need to configure Maintenance Optimizer (Mopz) in SolMan. Let me know if this is what you are looking for, so that I can give you the steps to configure Mopz.

Cheers,

Satish.

HI Jason,

i am talking about ST 400 and not st-ico

the level of ST 400 component will tell you the actual level of Solution manager.

the pre-requiste for mopz is that

minimum of ST 400 09 .further info you can refer to that guide.

ST ICO component is for asap implementation content.

Vijay.

I searched a lot of information regarding MOPZ.

Someone told me::"specifically ST400 Patch 11, to reduce note application time".

I think it is reasonable. How do you think about this?

well in this case why dont you upgrade to sp 15 or more instead of sp11.anway the effort and time you are going to spend is almost the same.

sp15 or more has more wizard based configuration which will help you in various scenerio in solution manager.

Hello Jason,

Sorry for the delay in replying. I was on long weekend. So, as Vijay suggested, its better if you could upgrade to Support Pack Stack 15 or 16. Once you done this, then follow the bellow steps to configure Maintenance Optimizer.

1. Make an RFC connection to TARGET system from SOLUTION MANGER in sm59.

2. Go to t-code SMSY and create Logical Component.

Enter the detail of LOGICAL COMPONENT NAME ZXXXXXXX

3. Go to T-code SMSY select the system for which we have created the Logical Component and generate the RFC connections.

In the above screen Header date enter Hostname and Instance number

In the above screen go to client tab and provide the details of the client.

Now if you check after the RFC connections generated it will pull instances and software components automatically.

Go to T-code Solution_manager OR dswp or solutionmanger

From the above screen click on Create.

Give a name for your solution click on continue after that.

Once you click on continue you will find BI landscape in SOLUTION OVERVIEW.

Click on SOLUTION LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE .

You will come to this screen above once you click on solution landscape maintenance here go to the dropdown and select the logical component which we have created for BI LANDSCAPE i.e. ZBIDEV

Select and click on continueu2026

Then go to Tcode SMSY select the system you have define and click on Assign ment to logical component (CAUTION permanent license has to be installed)

Go to tcode AISUSER this is used to define the SUSERID to log in to service.sap.com

For the user to work you need to make a connection RFC through SAP ROUTER

To make the RFC connection get the router details were SAP router is running check the screen shots below to get router info:

Go to tcode oss1

From the menu select paramerter and click technical settings

Make a note of SAPROUTER @ SAP ip address and the name.

With the above information make an RFC connection from SM59 how to do that?

Select SAP-OSS

Enter the Target System

Message Server information

Group

Select IP address

Mention the Client as 001

Under USER: Provide the S-User Id and the password through which you are connecting to market place to download the software.

Then, check if the connection is successful. If the connection fails, then check whether your SAP ROUTER is running or not.

Go to the server where SAP ROUTER is configured and execute SAPROUTER u2013r.

Go to T-code Solution_manager or DSWP and select your landscape

Select Maintenance Optimizer from Change Management Tab

Click on Create New Maintenance Transaction

Select the System from the drop-down and Continue the on screen instructions.

Also use the following link for AP Solution Manager Maitenance Optimizer

Hope the above steps are useful.

Satish.

Hope someone could send me the relevant patches at your convenient time.

Hi Jason,

I suggest you to download and apply Support Pack Stack 15 or 16 instead of individual components.

Please use the following link to download the SPS 15/16.

[Support Pack Stack|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sps/index.do?pvnr=01200314690900000235]

You need to provide your S-user ID and pwd. Once you logged in, then give the source (current stack level in SolMan) and the target (either 15 or 16).

Hope it helps.

Cheers,

Satish.

Hi,Satish,

Thank you very much for your timely reply. I am newest SAP Basis. So I have to ask you a primary question: How do I know so-called 'source stack' in my current SolMan?

I executed as the menu path: "SystemStatusComponent Information". There are lots of Software Components,like:'SAP_BASIS',,SAP_ABA','PI_BASIS' and so on. How do I find out the 'source stack'?

BTW, I have S-user ID and pwd and can log in SAP Service Marketplace successfully.

Regards!

Hi Jason,

Normally I consider the ST Component level. For example if it shows 12, then the source will be 12. What is the ST level you see in your system?

Hope it helps.

Hi Jason,

So, the current stack level is 09 in your system I believe. Select the source level as 09 and the target as 15 or 16 and proceed with the download.

Once the download completes, apply the stack to the system. If there are no issues with the applying the stack, then perform the steps to configure Mopz.

Cheers,

Satish.

Hi,Satish,

I greatly appreciate your timely help. Thank you very much.

Now, According to my circumstance, Which one should I select?

I mean there are three options as below, I don't know which one I should to select?

(1) SAP IGS 7.00 for Solution Manager ABAP Stack, Solution Manager JAVA Stack (From SP005 or higher (Recommendation: SP005) To SP005 or higher (Recommendation: SP011))

(2)SAP KERNEL 7.00 32-BIT for Solution Manager ABAP Stack (From SP083 or higher (Recommendation: SP083) To SP133)

(3)SAP KERNEL 7.00 32-BIT UNICODE for Solution Manager ABAP Stack, Solution Manager JAVA Stack (From SP083 or higher (Recommendation: SP083) To SP133)

Hello Jason,

Well, the following is the reply which you have sent

(1) SAP IGS 7.00 for Solution Manager ABAP Stack, Solution Manager JAVA Stack (From SP005 or higher (Recommendation: SP005) To SP005 or higher (Recommendation: SP011))

(2)SAP KERNEL 7.00 32-BIT for Solution Manager ABAP Stack (From SP083 or higher (Recommendation: SP083) To SP133)

(3)SAP KERNEL 7.00 32-BIT UNICODE for Solution Manager ABAP Stack, Solution Manager JAVA Stack (From SP083 or higher (Recommendation: SP083) To SP133)

You can find the answer from the above statements for the question which you have asked. I mean, if you look carefully, the 2nd and 3rd points from the above are saying about SAP Kernel which we are not bothered about. So, the first one will be your choice.

Hope it helps.

Cheers,

Satish.

HI

Software Component: ST

Release: 400

Level: 0009

Highest Support Package: SAPKITL419

Short Description: SAP Solution Tool

this level is more than sufficent to implement maintenance optimizer.

from your discussion i understand that you are new to basis and it is not that easy initially to understand the support package upgrade.

instead go with your present level and follow the document carefully and before that try to finish the basic configuration activities in transaction spro.

i hope in a week time you can able to complete all your configuration.

for more information about your basic configuration watch the tutor presentation from sap.

https://websmp101.sap-ag.de/rkt

select your solution manager version and go a head with basic configuration first and then follow the maintenance optimizer document from sap what i had presented in the same thead.

To configure MOPZ you can use

Note 990534 - Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer: BC Set

and/or use

http://service.sap.com/rkt-solman

--> SAP Solution Manager 7.0

--> Technology Consultant & System Administrator

--> Technical Configuration

There follow all the prerequisite steps - otherwise MOPZ will not work.

Hi,Experts,

When I implement DSWP, it showed me:

"

Profile parameter icm/host_name_full is not set correctly (see long text)

"

I tryed to implement Note 434918 and Note 677118, But I still can't correct the problem.

Hope friends can help me. Detailed configuration steps are more appreciated.

Set the given profile parameter in RZ10 and restart your instance.

Hi,Markus

Thank you very much for you timely reply.

I inputted "ICM/HOST_NAME_FULL" in the textbox.

I don't know its version.

When I hit u201CChangeu201D button. It show me:

u201C

Profile ICM/HOST_NAME_FULL does not exist.

u201C

I think I must do something wrong? What's the correct step I have to do?

BTW, I just want to get downlaod approvals for packages or stacks via SolMan. Can I skip this step? I mean usr RZ10 to set 'ICM/HOST_NAME_FULL '?

You have to

- import your instance profile first (using RZ10)

- open the instance profile (hostname_dvebmgs_systemnumer)

- add the parameter

- save

- restart the instance

icm/host_name_full is a parameter IN the profile, not the profile name.

Hi,Markus,

I followed your kindly steps:

RZ10

Profile: SLM_DVEBMGS00_NFLKKSLM (Saved at: E:\usr\sap\SLM\SYS\profile\)

Import

First maitain managment data.

I can see a 'COPY' button, how to "add the parameter "?

Thanks! (I am really a dummy. )

Jason

- select the profile

- change to "extended maintenance"

- click on the "add" button

No offense - but you should really attend a SAP Basis class before proceeding. It will otherwise be a total frustrating experience.

Here were the steps:

BTW, Can I directly amend 'SLM_DVEBMGS00_NFLKKSLM' manually?

I will atend a Basis training class at the middle of Dec.
