BI 7 Web Design API - Parameter modification - Exception symbol

Hi,

In the webinar presentation for BI 7 Web Design API, found at -

[https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c0e35cde-2737-2b10-c9b2-b83956cf5ec3]

Tobias Kaufmann suggests that included in samples provided by SAP is a parameter modification interface to "display own exception symbols". This is exactly what we need to do.

Looking at the help text on Web Design API -> BEx Web Interfaces -> Analysis Web Item: Using Parameter Modification (link below), there is no description of such an interface. Can anyone tell me if this intereface exists, and if it does what the parameters are?

[http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/29/4d15422ecce02ce10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm]

Thanks,

Ken

    I can provide some more information - the module is com.sap.ip.bi.rig.ExceptionImage - it's mentioned in note 1234444, but still no description on the parameters to apply. We are on support package 18 so shouldn't have the problem mentioned in the note. Can anyone help with the parameters?

    Thanks

    Ken

    Hi Ken,

    You can refer to threadID=1091841, where this issue is also discussed.

    Thanks, I had found that post, but unfortunately it didn't have a solution for this module, only pointed to help text for other modification modules.

    The detail I am looking for is the actual parameters needed for com.sap.ip.bi.rig.ExceptionImage.

    For example the parameters for changing the column width (com.sap.ip.bi.rig.ColumnWidth) are:

    Name/Expression

    (MOD_PARAM_NAME)

    COLUMN[*]

    COLUMN_DEFAULT

    Default column

    Value (MOD_PARAM_VALUE)

    Integer

    Width in pixels

    I'm assuming there are parameters for good, bad and critical, but my guesses haven't been correct. If this was an ABAP function module, I could list the source code and determine the parameters, but as it's java script, I'm not sure where to start.

    If you are looking to use this facility, I recommend sending an email to Tobias to get the document. However to give some help for future searchers of SDN here are the main parameters -

    Parameter Value Description

    Name/Expression

    (MOD_PARAM_NAME)

    ALERT_GOOD,

    ALERT_CRITICAL,

    ALERT_BAD

    You can use these three parameters to specify the URL or path in the MIME repository (SE80) for your own symbols. You can use these parameters to set symbols for the three alert levels Good, Critical and Bad.

    Value

    (MOD_PARAM_VALUE)

    Image URL or path in the MIME

    Repository:

    Example of a symbol from the MIME repository

    <bi:MOD_PARAM_NAME value="ALERT_GOOD" />

    <bi:MOD_PARAM_VALUE type="CHOICE" value="IMAGE" >

    <bi:IMAGE value="bwmimerep:///sap/bw/mime/BEx/Icons/marked_right.gif" />

    </bi:MOD_PARAM_VALUE>

    There are alternate parameters for Good 1-3, Critical 1-3, and Bad 1-3. Insead of using ALERT_GOOD/CRITICAL/BAD use ALERT_1 thru ALERT_9 where

     ALERT_1 equates to Good 1

     ALERT_2 equates to Good 2

     ALERT_3 equates to Good 3

     ALERT_4 equates to Critical 1

     ALERT_5 equates to Critical 2

     ALERT_6 equates to Critical 3

     ALERT_7 equates to Bad 1

     ALERT_8 equates to Bad 2

     ALERT_9 equates to Bad 3

    Regards,

    Ken
