Prefix invalid for dictionary DC

Former Member

Hi ,

When trying to create a table in dictionary DC i am getting the error as prefix invalid. I have reserved the name prefix as abc.com/abc.

Do we need to have the name 4 characters or it can be 3 characters also?

when i try to create the table with prefix as abc_empbook it gives this error. I also tried with

TEST_empbook, TMP_empbook.

Please help.

Thanks,

Portal

Here is what I can suggest:

According to this page 14:

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/fca9e290-0201-0010-05ba-82328739...

"Uppercase letters, digits and underscore, up to 18 characters".

Maybe the Uppercase is the trick?

This one is answered, not clear if it confirms the idea:

Hope it helps.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I have used the Table name in Uppercase. Even the result is same.

IS it mandatory to register with SAP in Service market place?

thanks,

Hi,

I was able to resolve this issue.

Reason:

I have reserved the nameprefix in SLD but only under development component. For Dictionary objects we should reserve the name under Dictionary objects also.

More over Registering with SAP is not mandatory .

Thanks,

Portal.

That was pointed out in Slava's 2nd link....

Thank you for noticing, Pascal.

An eye of an expert.

I am sure enjoying reading your posts on this forum.

In this case I put too much emphasis on the uppercase issue, which threw Portal Portal off from the track a bit. Will learn to write more neutural, giving food for thought, rather than forcing my opinion.

You're doing good. I'm glad there's someone else here providing useful answers between all the "I have a standard answer" crap that we encounter so much on SDN.
