Crystal Reports are failing when executed through MS Terminal Server. These same reports execute properly through a client /server configuration. The error message that crystal reports is that the header and footer information is too large for the page. We have suppressed all headers and footers then started reintroducing them one at a time and the report failed upon adding back in the 2nd header. Re-writing the reports at this time is not an option. Has anyone seen this? Any ideas?
Lynn
Hi Lynn,
Check the default printer setup for the account your user is logging under. Chances are it's not pointing to a valid printer.
Crystal uses the printer to determine the page size to format the report.
Good luck,
Brian

Hi Lynn,
Open the report on a local machine. Go to File | Page Setup and have a look at the printer and paper size.
Reports are designed to fit on a specific size paper and possibly a specific printer. If Crystal can't match the printer or paper size, it will substitute with the printer and paper size available to that Windows account.
An example is a report is designed using the default printer and letter size paper. On another machine, the default printer is a Dymo label printer. No other printer is installed. When you go to open this report, you will get the same message because the report is designed to print on a 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper but the printer only support 3 x 5 label.
That's one scenario. If some reports work and some don't then the ones that don't have to be designed with a specific printer or paper size the Terminal account's printer does not support.
Hope this helps,
Brian
