Dear All,

I am completely new to BODS, would like to use this platform to know more about BODS. Could anyone please explain the necessity of having try/catch blocks in job? what if we don't have try/catch in the same job? does it make difference?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Pranali

If you are familiar with Try catch in java - it is something similar in DS. There are different types of errors that can be encountered during job execution and based on the errors appropriate actions can be taken in catch block - e.g. on certain failure - send notification to a DL or trigger another job or rollback process etc. It is not essential that you must have try-catch in your job - really depends on the job, business requirements etc. The best place for you to start looking at: Reference guide - search for try and catch
