Crystal Reports for .NET upgrade and compatibility with CR XI

We use two versions of Crystal Reports in our shop:

1) Crystal Reports for .NET that comes with Visual Studio 2003 (for web reports)

2) Crystal Report XI, basically standalone but we use it with Pivotal CRM

We have an ASP.NET 1.1 application that we would like to add a Crystal Report to and are considering upgrading to a newer version of CR.

My questions are:

1) What is the latest version of CR that can be used with Visual Studio 2003 (ASP.NET 1.1) to build web reports?

2) Is this version able to run on the same PC as Crystal Reports XI (which we must use with Pivotal)?

We can use the latest version of Crystal reports i.e, CR 2008 with Visual studio 2003.

Hi Steven,

With VS 2003 we can use CRXI,CRXIR2 and CR 2008.

Hi,

In addition to the above note - you can update the Cr XI to CR XI R2 free

CR 2008 is next to CR XI R2 SP4

upgrade is availabe [here|http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/additional_downloads/service_packs/crystal_reports_en.asp#CRXIR2].

Click on - Service Pack 2 - Full build - ZIP - 1.03 GB - released April 2007

I am under the impression that you need Crystal Reports for .NET to create web reports and a separate version of CR for non-web reports. Is this true or can CR XI be used to create web reports? If so, are there any resources, tutorials, courses, etc., that explain how to do it.

Yes, you can create any type of reports in CR XI.

But my question is - What is web reports?

Do you mean an web application for reports!

if yes then you can create any report in any version (Compatiblity should be taken care of) and use it in your web project.
