System Housekeeping and Best Practice

Former Member

Hi All,

We are revisiting the housekeeping jobs on our systems, and appear to be running most of the jobs that are specified in SAP Note 16083.

Does anyone out there run any extra jobs to those in the SAP note? If so, what are they, and what is the benefit to the system in running the jobs?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

Some of this will depend on what the system is and the applications that you are running on the system (i.e. there are different housekeeping tasks for CRM, XI, and so on).

One thing we've done with our systems is to check the size of various tables against [SAP Note 706478|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/706478] and scheduled the needed housekeeping tasks as needed.

Does that help?

Daniel,

You will need to schedule RSDB409C weekly.

Check out note 93774.

If too large, you should clear the PF's first, R3<SID>DATA/DBSTATHDB4 and DBSTAIHDB4, otherwise the job may run a very long time.

Depending on what release you're on, there may be other jobs.

Regards

Michael
