Resource Description Property in File System Repository

Hi Experts,

I have a File System Repository that contains files with cryptic file-names. For displaying them in portal I'd like to add descriptions to those files. I searched in SDN and found out that description property is not supported for File System Repositorys. Is that really true?

So what could be an alternative if I have an existing file system directory and I want to add description property.
