Is it possible to copy of planned cost to estimate cost in cost TAB by defined value category-wise?

Hello ,

My business want to copy planned cost to estimate cost by value category wise.

for Eg. if there are 4 value categories are defined in system.

1.maint.material

2.labour charge

3.Ext service cost

4.others

and if i want system to copy the planned cost to estimate cost by above category-wise every time when i SAVE the order before releasing the same.also once i release the order this functionality should stop copying the values, is it possible?

You mean you want to copy the summated value category costs to the Estimated Cost field on the order header?

Hello Pete,

We do have estimate cost by cost category and so as planned cost. now my client wants to have the planned cost to get copied against respective value category. for e.g.

if Estimated cost at initial level is 0 and if i add material to the order component then it will show material cost against "maintenance Material" value category in planned cost column.

now when i will SAVE the order this has to get copy to Estimate cost in same value category ie. as below shown

BEFORE

Value category Estimate Cost Planned Cost

Maint. Material 0 1500($)

after i save this then it should be

Value category Estimate Cost Planned Cost

Maint. Material 1500($) 1500($)

and based on addition to other value categories it should changed. now once the order get "released" then it should stop coping these values . now if someone add or remove any thing after order gets REL status then planned cost will get increase or decrease. but there will not be any change in Estimate cost

this will help client to check for next budget allocation for particular department

please suggest if its possible.
