Assign company code to controlling area.

Hi,

We are facing following error while assigning company code to controlling area.

Background processing incomplete; display only.

Message no. KT312

Diagnosis

You want to maintain controlling areas. Background processing has not yet ended for controlling area 1111.

System Response

The system branches to controlling area display.

Procedure

You can make changes only after all background processing has ended.

The job in question begins with SM34_1111*.

Hi,

Certain changes in version or controlling area maintenance require checks which are very time-consuming and which can cause a TIME_OUT in online.If such a check is run in the background, online maintenance stays for so long locked for changing access keys until the job is ended.The job itself will cancel the lock indicator for online maintenance, if correctly processed.

You can cancel the lock indicator manually by entering "=KILL" in the command field. However, you should only do this if the job terminated and could not cancel the lock indicator itself.

Check everything above and if notthing works...ask basis to restart the client. That will stop any ghost processes

whether the company code is created in FI, if you sure, then controlling area mantain

Controlling --> Controlling general --> Organization --> Maintain Controlling Area

Dear,

in OKKP confirm that the Company Code is assigned to the Controlling Area in a valid period.

Please check with basis consultant Check log in SM 21 and SM13

See in that test server may be something has been changed or some setting have been made for controlling at client level which effects all the company code in the server,,, ok so u need to find it out because its surely something wrong with ur system only.
