Should BO be installed to work with SDK?

Hi All,

I'm using .NET BOE SDK to develop an application to manage the security settings in the Business objects. To work with the BO-SDK(All sdk including RAS SDK, BOE SDK, etc.,), should my machine contain Business objects installed? Or is it enough to have the BO SDK alone to develop my application?
